Slidebean, startup con sede en Costa Rica y Nueva York, completó su Ronda Semilla durante el mes de diciembre de 2016.
La compañía estructuró su ronda semilla en dos fases. La primera fase por un monto de $250K que entró hace varios meses y, más recientemente, la segunda fase, la cual se cerró en diciembre de 2016, por $370K de fondeo adicional para completar los $620K de su Ronda Semilla. Carao Ventures, con su red de inversionistas ángeles, lideró la ronda, tomando el 75% del capital invertido, en la cual también participaron otras firmas de Estados Unidos como DreamIt Ventures Fund y Edge Harris Ventures, además de otros grupos de inversionistas ángeles latinoamericanos cercanos a Slidebean y a Carao Ventures.
Slidebean ofrece un software en la nube para diseñar presentaciones de manera rápida y sencilla para el usuario. Caya, CEO de Slidebean, menciona: “El objetivo de esta ronda es acelerar nuestro crecimiento aún más. Tenemos miles de usuarios alrededor del mundo, pero hay potencial para muchísimos más.”

Slidebean raises Seed Round of $620K
Slidebean, a Costa Rica and New York based startup, completed its Seed Round this past December 2016.
The seed round was structured in two phases: a $250K tranche closed several months ago, and a $370K second tranche closed this past December, for a combined total seed round of $620K. Carao Ventures led the round with ~75% of the total commitment coming from the firm’s investor network. The remaining 25% of the funds came from US-based venture firms DreamIt Ventures Fund and Edge Harris Ventures, and other Latin American angel investor groups with strong ties to Slidebean and Carao Ventures. The company had raised a previous (pre-seed) round of financing in late 2014 for $150K from 500 Startups, Carao Ventures and the company’s founders.
Slidebean offers a cloud-based software to design presentations in a fast and easy way. Caya, CEO of Slidebean, comments on the deal: “The objective of this round is to accelerate our growth even more. We have thousands of users around the world, but there is potential to reach a lot more.”
